Recognizing that, members of our group are involved in a variety of outreach activities. Below are some of the programs and activities that we engage in.
BASIS is a program through which grad students/postdocs go and teach science lessons at local schools.
Guest lecturer and participation in a variety of STEM activities at Los Medanos Community College.
Splash programs are day-long events where high school students attend several lectures of their choice from a list of specialized or advanced topics that do not usually feature in high school curricula.
Science Olympiad: Write and administer exams, and conduct hands-on activities for annual high school Science Olympiad invitational tournament at UC Berkeley
Respect is Part of Research (RPR) is a peer-led sexual harassment and violence prevention program for incoming graduate students at UCB. RPR operates by building positive and productive social norms through peer-facilitated workshops across departments at Berkeley.
Lecturer at a biophysics summer school sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) and POSTECH. This summer school is targeted at undergraduate students from smaller institutions where biophysics-specific courses may not be provided.
